The Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society (EEGS) convenes the annual Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems (SAGEEP). The Symposium has been held every year since 1988 at a variety of locations across the United States. SAGEEP is internationally recognized as the leading conference focused on the practical application of near-surface geophysics. It occurs annually over a 5-day period, typically drawing 300 to 500 attendees from the academic, government, industry, and service sectors. Each SAGEEP includes approximately 150 oral and poster presentations, educational workshops, vendor presentations, and a commercial exhibition. EEGS publishes the Proceedings of SAGEEP, comprised of technical papers presented at the Symposium. There are more than 2,000 papers in the SAGEEP collection, covering a wide range of near-surface geophysical applications. Individual papers are typically three to ten pages long and have been lightly reviewed by the symposium organizers before publication.
